As an author of a competing text, I often feel jealous and insecure when I read books by Sherry Cormier. This book, like previous editions and other texts she has written, is just fabulous. It has a very nice combination of clear and detailed descriptions of Interviewing and Change Strategies as well as many extremely helpful concrete activities for students entering the mental health professions. Another thing you should know about Sherry Cormier is that I once had a former MA student go to West Virginia to study in the counseling program there and he pronounced her as "Possibly the nicest person on the planet."
